All Done

Jeremy and I are all done our video, and I am really happy how it turned out. Doing our own filming was a bit tricky but a lot of fun. It seemed like a whole lot of setting up for a 3 second clip though. I'm really happy were done and it worked out, and I'm glad I learned a bit about Premier. I quite enjoyed this class, especially because I learned a ton because I knew nothing coming in. But the summer is coming and know it is time for me to start working to make some good cash.

Video Editing Project

Hockey Fights

Our video is moving along very nicely. We have learned and applied many techniques in Premier, and I like how our video is looking. We definitely have ran into some challenges including working the music into the video, and cutting certain parts out of different clips. Computer problems slowed down the process too. For our first video made though I am impressed and think its pretty good, I'm excited to put it onto you tube.

Movie Madness

Jermey and I have found an idea for our movie, and just working through the story board. Hopefully we can make it work and have our movie entertaining. We saw a tutorial on the Adobe program and I'm kinda nervous because it looks really confusing. We also don't have very much time to make our video, but I'm sure we will get through it. By the way, if your wondering, our video is going to be on hockey fights.

Website - Movie

I am happy to be finishing up with my web page, I have just made the finishing touches and working on the creative strategy. The last few classes I have been working through with Dreamweaver, and getting frustrated occasionally. It's pretty cool to have your own website though, I am definitely pleased with that. If you want to see it go to www.uleth.ca/~tyler.reid. We were just introduced to our video project, which I am sure will be a lot of fun, but have never done anything like it before. I will be working with Jeremy, and we have been throwing out some ideas, but nothing set in stone yet. I am excited to get working on the movie, but even more excited to look at the calender and see 3 weeks left in school.

Web Page Progression

After class today I finished my home page for my project. Its fairly simple but represents me well. I need some new pictures, which I will have for Thursday, so I can continue on with the other pages in the site. I also want to change the picture on the home page to one that is more clear, the front page has to look the nicest so people will stick around on my site. Every class I seem to learn more about dream weaver also, I guess that's what you get when you have never seen the program before.

Web site working

After a few classes of working on our websites and learning dream weaver, I have a start on my own website. I like the templates we were shown, and our practice website. Mine will be similar to that, because we are supposed to keep it simple. Rather than having an education profile, I want to do my own hockey profile, it will be more original and I think I will have more fun making it.

Project Three

I finished "Canada" and handed it in. I am happy with the finished product but curious to see how I got marked. The last few classes we have introduced web site design, which well be our third project. I am pretty nervous because I have never created a web page and don't have the slightest clue how to. I'm sure it will be fun to learn though. I hope I can make an effictive web page that will be a good portfolio or almost like an online resume.

Working on Collage

I am almost finished my "Canadian Collage" which has gone pretty well. Searching for different images that seemed to work together on the Internet was a bit tough, but I think the finished image is good. The collage is pretty straight forward, but I spent most of my time finding colors that work and making the background good. I found that using type on my collage didn't work very well and it would take away from the images. Once again it was good to work with photo shop, and I learned a few more things the program could do, which is always good.

Collage

We have just received our collage assignment and I am excited but nervous to work on it. I have a few ideas, some from myself and others from research, for what I am going to do. I hope with this project I can make a little "crazier" now that I have some practise with photo shop. I am really looking forward to reading week though, get to go home, and definitely excited we got an extra few days to work on our project when we return to school.

Finished Project 1

I finished my self portrait and I am all set to hand it in. I am happy with my finished product, but excited to move on to a new project. When first assigned the project, I wasn't excited about the creative process write up, but now I realize how important it is, and think it is necessary to help explain my art. My self portrait is titled "Spectator" and I really hope it goes well and everyone enjoys it.

Self Portrait

So far my self portrait has been going alright. I am off to a decent start with my idea and my pictures, but I still have to incorporate ideas from other artists. I'm pretty nervous about my project because my photoshop skills are still beginner but its fun to play around with our own pictures. But this is all I can write because its time for me to do more research for my self portrait.

Photoshop

So far photoshop has been going pretty good, considering I had never used the program before. Using the example of the fireman has given me some ideas for my self portrait. I really want to show one of my favorite sports in the background of a picture of myself. I have to find some research to help my accomplish this effectively. As for my blog, I will try to update it more often, but I don't own a computer so sometimes its tough, but hopefully this is a start.

A Little Introduction

Hi, my name is Tyler Reid and I am 20 years old. I am from Calgary, and this is my first year attending the University of Lethbridge. Outside of school, my favorite thing to do is play hockey, and party with friends. I am currently playing Junior B hockey for the Lethbridge Express. With regards to what we will be learning in New Media 2020, I am very excited because I have never seen any of the programs before, and rarely use the internet except for the U of L website.
